About the Position: Responsible for maintenance and certification of full electronic systems of the most complex design (ATC Systems) at the USAG Fort Greely Allen Army Airfield (AAAF) Air Traffic Control (ATC) maintenance facility.

Duties

Manages the USAG Fort Greely, Allen Army Airfield (AAAF) Air Traffic Control (ATC) maintenance facility and personnel. Maintains the ATC maintenance budget and accurate IMPAC card purchases, logistics ordering, and inventory of all equipment. Oversees and diagnoses causes of equipment malfunctions through application of advanced electronic theory, system analysis, complex test equipment, schematic and wiring diagrams, formulas and/or other theories. Participates in and conducts site surveys to determine the best location for new or relocated ATC facilities. Aids in the planning and design or modifies existing electronic designs for the installation. Works directly with the Airfield Manager (AFM) who oversees the work of all civilian employees performing ATC electronic equipment repair and maintenance.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • Pre-employment physical is required as duties include regular and recurring visits to equipment sites involving considerable stooping, bending and climbing.
  • May be assigned to any shift on a rotational or continuing basis. Incumbent is subject to re-call at any hour or on any day to perform emergency repairs on critical equipment.
  • Travel to remote sites on temporary duty by government vehicle or aircraft is occasionally required.
  • This position has been Designated a Key Essential Position - Position is designated as a Key Position in accordance with AR 690-11.
  • This position is a Testing Designated Position (TDP) subject to applicant testing and random drug testing.
  • Incumbent may be required to obtain and maintain a Secret T3 security clearance.
