Duties
You will provide maintenance and repair services on all of Equipment Maintenance Center (EMC) special tools, including evaluating, diagnostics and basic overhaul, inventory and issue of tools to support the production shops.
You will maintain a neat, clean, safe, and organized tool room area to ensure proper storage of hand/power tools and equipment.
You will monitor tool record for tools returned/not returned within a reasonable period of time and advises employee /supervisor, as appropriate, requesting return of the item/tools, requisitioning new Tools as required.
You will work with EMC department to ensure the hazmat records are kept up to date, the shops have support paint and materials to prevent a work stoppage and all Federal Regulations are followed when dealing with hazmat through the tool room.
You will assist EMC Production Shops and Logistics in researching/obtaining information from equipment manufactures/vendors for the purpose of procuring tools and special equipment needed in the equipment repair operations.
Requirements

- You will be required to possess and maintain a current valid United States driver’s license.
- You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases.
- You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
- You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.
- May be required to obtain and maintain an Optional Form 346 (OF346) license with forklift endorsement rated up to 6,000 pounds.
- This is a bargaining unit position.
- You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
