Duties

Serve as a Physical Security Specialist developing policy and procedural guidance for the Physical Security program at United States Army Pacific's Weyand Command Center on Fort Shafter, HI. Plan execution of assigned projects adhering to the general guidance, policies and objectives of the overall security program. Act as an advisor and consultant to Deputy Chief of Staff and operating officials on all Physical Security matters. Interpret regulations and directives to meet the demands of security and organizational missions and practices. Perform annual Physical Security and follow-up surveys and inspections of activities. Responsible for issuance, documentation, and accountability for a variety of security and access badges.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • This position requires the incumbent (a current DoD, DA, or other Service civilian employee) to have already completed the core SPeD certification: Security Fundamental Professional Certification (SFPC).
  • If the incumbent is a Security professional who is new to government service as civilian employee, he/she must complete the core SPeD Certification: SFPC within two years from the start date of employment.
  • This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment.
  • This position has a temporary duty (TDY) travel requirement up to 10% of the time.
  • This is a drug testing position.
  • May be required to work early mornings, late nights, weekends, and/or holidays to meet mission requirements. Overtime is not routine and must be approved by the Headquarters Facility Manager prior to execution
  • One-year trial period may be required.
