Requirements

- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
- Locations are not negotiable. The actual duty locations available may be located on the Air Force Civilian Service website.
- Employee must meet Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA) requirements, which includes achieving Engineering and Technical Management “Practitioner” certification category within required timeframe after appointment.
- This position has been designated as a Non-Critical Acquisition Position and is covered by the Acquisition Professional Development Program (APDP).
- The selectee must meet, or be capable of achieving the APDP certification as designated on the position description within the defined grace period for that certification level after assignment.
- This position also requires the employee to engage in acquisition continuous learning activities achieving 80 Continuous Learning points every 24 months.

- A degree in Engineering Technology does not meet the qualifications for this position.
- This position may require travel. Periodic Temporary Duty travel to various locations, to include each missile wing, Vandenberg SFB, and Hill AFB, is typically required for this position.
- The work may require the employee to drive a motor vehicle. An appropriate, valid driver's license may be required for the position.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Professional knowledge of electrical engineering concepts, principles, practices, and extensive familiarity with other engineering disciplines and architecture; and knowledge of a broad range of engineering and construction standards, methods, practices, and techniques, materials, and equipment to ensure work is in compliance with regulations and standards.
Knowledge of standard contracting regulations, practices, and procedures; and work classifications and the regulatory and statutory restrictions on the expenditures of appropriated and non-appropriated funds.
Knowledge of health, safety, and environmental requirements as outlined in applicable standards, regulations, and/or technical orders; program planning and budgeting cycles, financial control, budget systems, and management; environmental principles, practices, procedures, laws, regulations, and current legislative issues.
Knowledge of automated data processing concepts, systems capabilities, and economic usage to effectively accomplish assigned functions. Knowledge of budgeting, procurement, standard configuration and finding regulations, practices and processes related to system acquisition and sustainment management functions.
Ability to plan, conduct, and record site/facility surveys and inspections.
Ability to research, analyze, interpret, and apply rules, regulations, and procedures to a variety of situations and to recommend timely, and economical solutions; plan and organize work and coordinate with other engineering discplines and architects; communicate effectively, both orally and in writing; and maintain good working relations.
Education
Degree: Engineering. To be acceptable, the program must: (1) lead to a bachelor's degree in a school of engineering with at least one program accredited by ABET; or (2) include differential and integral calculus and courses (more advanced than first-year physics and chemistry) in five of the following seven areas of engineering science or physics: (a) statics, dynamics; (b) strength of materials (stress-strain relationships); (c) fluid mechanics, hydraulics; (d) thermodynamics; (e) electrical fields and circuits; (f) nature and properties of materials (relating particle and aggregate structure to properties); and (g) any other comparable area of fundamental engineering science or physics, such as optics, heat transfer, soil mechanics, or electronics.
