Duties
These positions are located within the Department of the Interior, Bureau of Safety and Environmental Enforcement (BSEE), Gulf of Mexico (GOM) Region (GOMR), District Field Operations, (1) vacancy in Lake Jackson District, duty stationed in Angleton, TX, and (1) vacancy in Lake Charles District, duty stationed in Lake Charles, LA.
At the full performance level (GS-07) the major duties of this position include but are not limited to the following:
Prepare explanations to support budget requests. Recommends approval or disapproval of expenditure requests based on availability of funds.
Examine, validate, and certify payment for all invoices and supporting documents form contractors/vendors, and credit card purchases. Contacts vendors/contractors to correct any discrepancies and resolve problems.
Responsible for the preparation and submission of various accounting, fiscal, and budget reports. Information to prepare the reports and support financial documents is compiled from a variety of sources.
Prepare all travel authorizations and travel vouchers for all office personnel traveling on official temporary duty. Ensures compliance with applicable rules, regulations, and policies which govern travel.
Make travel arrangements from the District Manager, professional staff, and inspection staff preparing detailed itineraries for travelers.
Oversee the training activity of the District Office, including coordinating attendance of all regional or in-house training.
Prepare training requests and maintains tracking system relative to training for use in planning training and for budget preparation.

BSEE has determined that the duties of this position are suitable for telework and the selectee may be allowed to telework with supervisor approval.
This position is included in a bargaining unit. The American Federation of Government Employees (AFGE), Local 2798, is the exclusive representative of all employees in this bargaining unit.
This vacancy may be used to fill additional positions as vacancies become available.

Qualifications
To qualify for this position, you must meet the Specialized Experience for the grade to which you are applying.
Specialized Experience:
GS-06
To qualify for the GS-06, you must possess at least one full year of specialized experience equivalent to the
GS-05 level in the Federal service, or comparable experience not gained through Federal service.
Specialized experience is experience that equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled. Specialized experience is defined as demonstrated experience:
1. Preparing correspondence and/or documents for review; AND
2. Coordinating training and/or travel requests; AND
3. Making purchases for an office.
MUST MEET ALL
GS-07
To qualify for the GS-07, you must possess at least one full year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-06 level in the Federal service, or comparable experience not gained through Federal service.
Specialized experience is experience that equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled. Specialized experience is defined as demonstrated experience:
1. Preparing correspondence and/or documents for review; AND
2. Coordinating training and/or travel requests; AND
3. Making purchases for an office; AND
4. Managing an office budget.
