This National Guard position is for a GENERAL SUPPLY SPECIALIST (TITLE 32), Position Description Number D0316000 and is part of the FL HQ 101 AOG, National Guard.
Duties
As a GENERAL SUPPLY SPECIALIST, GS-2001-09, you will performs analysis on a wide range of technical functions by analyzing historical and current data and identifying deficiencies or potential problems during surveillances or staff assistance visits. Evaluates unexpected fluctuations or trends in statistics, resolves discrepancies, and makes recommendations for change when problems are identified that adversely affect operations. Performs analysis on current or potential problems identified. Compares supply performance and maintenance interface data with prescribed standards to identify the effectiveness of supply support. Performs in-depth research and special analyses and makes appropriate recommendations for improvement. Facilitates corrective measures when specific actions are required by other elements. Utilizes computer software programs, spreadsheets, databases and graphics to collect, organize, analyze, display, and/or brief management information to customers and/or AFFOR management staff. Monitors inventory losses by analyses of inventory discrepancies, adjustments, and trends to ensure the integrity of the base resources management system. Receives incoming shipment discrepancy reports and evaluates and performs analyses on incoming and outgoing reports to ensure the effectiveness of the Supply Discrepancy Report (SDR) program.

- This is an excepted service position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the employing state's National Guard, required prior to the effective date of placement.

- May be required to successfully complete a probationary period.
- Males born after 31 December 1959 must be registered for Selective Service.
Qualifications
AREA OF CONSIDERATION: This position is in the Excepted Federal Civil Service "under the authority of 32 U.S.C. 709" and is open to Category 1: All permanent/indefinite (T32 and T5) technicians employed by the agency Category 3: All current military members of the Florida National Guard; and Category 4: All individuals who qualify for membership in the Florida National Guard and are willing to become T32 Dual Status technicians. First consideration will be given to Category 1.
Recruitment Incentive: May be paid to the candidate who is "newly appointed" into this federal government position. The bonus will NTE $7,000. Payment will be a lump sum payment at the beginning of employment. Candidate must agree in writing to remain in this position for a minimum of 12 months, and if they vacate that position for another technician, AGR or active-duty service position within the initial 12-month period, the Incentive may be recouped. Current onboard technicians, if selected, are not eligible for this bonus.
PCS: Permanent Change of Station (PCS) MAY be authorized. Authorization for payment of PCS expenses will be granted ONLY after determination is made that payment is in the best interest of the Florida National Guard.

MILITARY GRADE(S): Enlisted: E1 thru E7
GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Must have experience, education or training involving administration of supply management, storage, cataloging, packaging and distribution or other work which provided the applicant with a general knowledge of one or more aspects of the supply field. Experience using computer and automation systems.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: GS09 Must have at least one year of specialized experiences at the GS-07 level or the equivalent which provides knowledge and/or experience demonstrating ability researching documents or other resources to coordinate inventory requirements. Knowledge of stock levels, inventory, shipping, receiving, requisitioning and requirements of supplies and equipment. Experience involving the control of supply stocks and accounting for equipment. Knowledge of supply management, cataloging, maintenance, and disposal procedures. Experience which required person-to-person contacts to convey information and ability to compile reports, letters, memoranda, etc. Demonstrated experience with cost estimates, budgets, or funding management. Experience conducting extensive and exhaustive searches for required information; reconstruct records for complex supply transactions; and/or provide supply operations support for supply activities.
Education
n lieu of specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience:
Successful completion of a master's or equivalent graduate degree
or
2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree
or
LL.B. or J.D., if related
