About the Position: Position serves as the Administrative Officer managing the administrative operations and assisting the organization's Chief and/or Deputy, managing a variety of conflicts, situations, and complex office problems. Position is in Human Resources Command (HRC), Enlisted Personnel Management Directorate (MPD), at Fort Knox, Kentucky.

Duties

Plan, organizes, and coordinates the administrative activities. Maintain suspense systems to ensure all actions are completed. Work and communicates with clients/customers. Compile and evaluates information concerning various administrative issues relating to personnel office operations.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Tier 3 (NCS/SECRET) background investigation.
  • Must be able to work extended and/or other than normal duty hours, including evenings, nights, weekends, holidays, and overtime to the extent determined by the supervisor.
  • Must be able perform a Temporary Change of Station (TCS) for not less than 6 months, but no more than 30 months.
  • Must be able to work under austere living conditions, as well as share accommodation under field conditions (containers, tents and/or barracks).
  • Must be able to perform business related travel up to 60% of the time.
  • Must be able to receive inoculations IAW DoD requirements for travel to specific countries.
  • Must be able to travel using military transportation or non-commercial means of travel.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a no-fee Special Issuance Passport (SIP) and associated Visa while assigned to a Federal civilian position in an area requiring a passport and associated Visa.
  • An RPA will be required when the employee is in the exempt area for more than forty-two days.
  • Appointment to this position is subject to a one-year probationary period unless the requirement has already been met.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes perform a wide variety of personnel, administrative, and/or clerical tasks associated with the requirements and/or procedures of computerized databases such as the Defense Enrollment Eligibility Reporting System (DEERS) and/or the Real Time Automated Personnel Identification System (RAPIDS); conduct fact-finding reviews of military personnel cases; and assist with investigating inquiries related to the determination of eligibility for the issuance of ID cards. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07). OR Education: Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as: Business Management, Business Administration, Resource Management or Human Resources Management. (Note: You must attach a copy of your transcripts.) OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the first year (total graduate semester hours minus 18) by 18. Add the two percentages. (Note: You must attach a copy of your transcripts.) You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Administration and ManagementCustomer ServiceTechnical Competence Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-07).
