This position is located in the Department of Health & Human Services (HHS), Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), Center for Clinical Standards and Quality, (CCSQ) Quality & Safety Oversight Group (QSOG).
As a Supervisory Program Manager, GS-0340-15, you will serve as the full deputy to the Director of the Quality and Safety Oversight Group.
Duties
As the QSOQ Deputy Director, provides policy interpretation and subject matter expertise for the functional responsibilities of the group.
Provides leadership as it pertains to planning, directing and coordinating programs to assure adequate health care and safety standards as well some other related policies for providers and suppliers are within compliance.
Develops and analyzes national data on the administration of the Medicare and Medicaid standards and certification program and develops methods for improvement.
The incumbent is required to keep up to date knowledge of needs resources and operational status of the divisions and the us of critical judgement, flexibility and imagination for continuing success in the programs direction.
Serves as a manger and full deputy to the QSOG Director, an Executive Level position, by supervising GS-15 level managers and special staff.

In order to qualify for the GS-15 , you must meet the following: You must demonstrate in your resume at least one year (52 weeks) of qualifying specialized experience equivalent to the GS-14 grade level in the Federal government, obtained in either the private or public sector, to include:
(1) Supervising or leading the development and maintenance of quality healthcare oversight programs; (2) Effectively communicating quality healthcare goals to stakeholders, public groups, or private sector groups; and (3) supervising or leading work performed by subordinate administrative and professional staff.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
Time-in-Grade: To be eligible, current Federal employees must have served at least 52 weeks (one year) at the next lower grade level from the position/grade level(s) to which they are applying.
