You will serve as a Quality Assurance Specialist (Ships) in the Supervisor of Shipbuilding, Conversion and Repair, Bath (SSB) of SUPERVISOR OF SHIPBUILDING BATH.

Duties

You will provide primary contractual and quality oversight of the Navy-contracted Littoral Combat Ship. You will be the primary SUPSHIP Bath Quality representative throughout the Post- Shakedown Availability process. You will coordinate all Quality oversight of work conducted at commercial contractor facilities remote from SSBA support. You will monitor the capability of the builder’s processes, regularly audits their in-process execution, and inspects the final products produced. You will retrieve and analyze group recorded quality data to analyze trends, populate assessments, and support recommendations. You will prepare and monitor surveillance plans, and sampling criteria, for the fabrication, installation, activation, testing and trials of numerous shipboard systems. You will monitor corrective actions undertaken to assure the product delivered adheres to referenced standards. You will provide detailed, comprehensive and complete objective quality evidence (OQE). You will coordinate the production and test oversight efforts of Ship's force, Government and Builder QA personnel. You will monitor progress and assess the readiness of a variety of systems to interact in support of the increasingly complex ship’s activation program. You will continuously review and provide assessment on the acceptability of the Contractor's QA program.

  • This is a bargaining unit position.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector providing oversight to quality assurance processes and procedures for ships.
