THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION. This National Guard position is for a PRODUCTION CONTROLLER (TITLE 32), Position Description Number D1259000 and is part of the IL FMS 2, National Guard.

Duties

As a PRODUCTION CONTROLLER (TITLE 32), GS-1152-6/7, you will perform maintenance production management, to achieve or maintain desired production levels, to serve as an equipment readiness expert for units supported by the facility, and to provide technical guidance and oversight to a lower-graded Production Controller. Major Duties - This is NOT an all-inclusive list: Establish plan, schedule, and control the maintenance and repair of a variety of vehicles and equipment such as combat vehicles, heavy-duty engineering and mobile equipment, tracked vehicles, towed and self-propelled artillery, communications and electronic equipment, guided missile systems, and small arms. Implement maintenance plans and monitor progress of accomplishments. Provide status of equipment, maintenance actions in progress, and location of equipment. Provide assistance to ensure that Modified Table of Organization and Equipment (MTO&E) or Table of Distribution and Allowances (TDA) reportable Line Item Numbers (LIN) are properly managed, reported and accounted for with respect to readiness reports, property accountability reports and system management. Analyze repair methods and recommends control procedures to ensure that accomplishment of programs meet priorities and deadlines established by higher authority or support activities. Coordinate with units and other support activities concerning the delivery, status of repair operations, and/or pick up of completed work orders. Conduct initial and long range planning pertaining to routine production processes, mechanical skills, availability of test and diagnostic equipment, repair parts, and other factors influencing the repair, modification, and maintenance of equipment and readiness reporting. Assist supervisory personnel regarding readiness, Class 9 (CL IX) funding, production problems and work planning. In the absence of the higher graded production controller, ensure that unit CL IX accounts are funded, budgeted, and executed to maximize readiness; and performs demand analysis on CL IX expenses to determine proper PLL stockage to sustain facility mission requirements. Study directives, modification work orders, and regulations as to their application in the unit. Make on-the-spot adjustments to repair priorities on routine or reoccurring processes necessitated by unscheduled maintenance requirements. Input data regarding work order information, status changes, supply updates, and other pertinent information. Designate and maintain current maintenance repair priorities by Force Activity Designator, pacing items, Equipment Readiness Codes (ERC) A, B, and C equipment type, available funds, commander's priority, state/national priorities, (in the case of floods, fires, and mobilizations) and unit supported. Assist in the resolution of problems encountered between scheduled or unscheduled production or priority requirements.

AREA OF CONSIDERATION: The areas of considerations for this position, Title 32 Excepted Service (32 U.S. Code § 709), the only area of consideration for this position will be all excepted permanent and indefinite temporary technicians within the ILNG. Military Grades: Enlisted/Warrant Officer - Not to exceed the rank of CW2 GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Must possess experience, education or training which indicates your ability to reason in quantitative terms, communicate orally and in writing in a clear and concise manner, understand terminology and data pertaining to repair operations and process characteristics of the production activity. One year of specialized experience equivalent to the lower grade level in the Federal service in order to be considered for this position. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: GS-07 Level. - MUST possess specialized experience which includes at least 1 year equivalent to the GS-6 Level; education or training working with people from various levels and backgrounds; experience with a general knowledge of the functions and procedures of production control, records, references, and techniques for developing production control data; experience assisting or maintaining workflow. GS-6 Level MUST possess specialized experience which includes at least which includes at least 1 year equivalent to the GS-5 Level; experience, education or training which demonstrates the ability to collect and compile information from supported organizations, procurement inspection, supply and other activities; experience working with people from various levels and backgrounds to ascertain causes in delays in production and preparing reports on status of certain projects Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.
