About the Position: Serves as senior Program Manager for specific programs with responsibility for exercising management and operational control over the assigned programs. Duties require knowledge and an in-depth understanding of the mission objectives according to applicable guidance and directives in order to anticipate major programming needs/problems and to provide timely, effective guidance to the US Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) and their clients on the management of assigned programs.

Duties

Manage a variety of special, one-of-a-kind regional-wide programs/projects critical to the accomplishment of the USACE, North Atlantic Division mission. Monitor the progress of priority and/or high visibility program segments and projects and keeps informed of progress through the review of reports, programming documents, funds authorization documents, and other program material. Initiate actions to avoid anticipated or actual problems detrimental to the program. Provide program guidance, conformance with criteria, and compliance with policies and procedures. Represent the North Atlantic Division in installation support, planning, programming and review conferences with customers to ascertain operational requirements and future plans. Attend meetings with appropriate agency officials, Architect-Engineers, contractors and representatives of using services to discuss and/or resolve problems. Determine the impact of proposed changes in the programs directed by USACE customers. Provide the Division's position on program, regulatory, or funding changes proposed. Review Congressional appropriations and authorization language for projects to ensure implementation of and conformance to the legislative challenges imposed by Congress. Develop and establish policies to facilitate implementation of program initiatives.

Requirements

  • Requires business travel away from the work site approximately 20% of the time.
