The primary purpose of this position is to serve as a foundational logistics management specialist in support of acquisition phases and/or sustainment of assigned systems, subsystems, programs, or major equipment for an assigned AFLCMC Directorate organization

Duties

1. Serves as the focal point for planning, management, and coordination of life cycle logistics support for a major weapon system or subsystem. 2. Manages, monitors, evaluates, and coordinates Integrated Logistics Support plan implementation. 3. Serves as the senior technical advisor on contracts. 4. Serves as the senior representative and spokesperson in communicating program matters.

Qualifications

Experience requirements are described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Administrative and Management Positions for the Logistics Management Series. Due to the use of 120-day rosters, this period of experience may be completed within 120 days of the closing date of this announcement. "All eligibility and qualifications must be met by the closing date of this announcement however, this vacancy announcement may be used to fill other like vacancies within 120 days of the closing of this announcement and your eligibility requirements (e.g. time in grade) will be reevaluated." SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower grade NH-02, equivalent to the next lower grade GS-11 in other pay systems.. Examples of specialized experience includes independently directing, developing, implementing, and/or coordinating total cradle to grave logistics management while functioning as part of a logistics management operation in support of assigned systems, programs, or major equipment. NOTE: Due to the use of 120-day rosters, this period of experience may be completed within 120 days of the closing date of this announcement. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas: 1. Knowledge of basic theories and principles of systems design, specifications development techniques; and an understanding of acquisition and maintenance requirements as well as organizational functions involved in logistical support. 2. Knowledge of theories and principles of Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) planning, development, and execution sufficient to coordinate and integrate functions into a total, well structured, and viable program. 3. Knowledge of system life cycle concepts and design as they apply to system research, development, and acquisition. 4. Knowledge of contractual processes, procedures, and technical requirements. 5. Ability to plan, analyze, and coordinate a system or portion of a major system's acquisition and transfer into operational use; to include the identification and correlation of specific requirements for money, manpower, materiel, facilities, and services needed to support the program; and to develop and analyze data to determine logistic objectives and goals, identify support requirements (including funding, contract development, and other technical support requirements), and establish relationships between the participants involved in deploying the plan. 6. Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing. PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week. VOLUNTEER WORK EXPERIENCE: Refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service Programs (i.e., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student and social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge and skills that can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
