Serve as an Administrative Officer at the Bruce W Carter Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center in the Miami VA Healthcare system. Responsible for oversight and management and administrative supervision to a unit of approximately 60 professional/technical/support personnel.
Duties
Major duties include but are not limited to:
Gather Data to ensure that all required information is available for credentialing and privileging staff, performance improvement, and workload statistics.
Conduct special studies on manpower, space, and equipment utilization.
Maintain a complete source of comprehensive manpower, space, and equipment data to support efforts to establish, review, or modify resource requirements.
Maintain accurate utilization and cost information and provide analysis of the affect of resources on the overall productivity of all areas of Imaging Service.
Develop and maintain workload/resource monitors that detect appropriate and inappropriate utilization practices at Miami VAHS.
Collaborate with clinical and administrative services and appropriate committees to plan and evaluate HT/HC Utilization Management activities.
Coordinate both equipment purchases and installation.
Incorporate short and long term goals of the facility to formulate the budget for all sections of Imaging Service through forecasting models, historical figures, and future projects.
Write Healthcare System Policy Memorandums, service policies, and other protocols to ensure Miami VAHS function by the rules, regulations, and guidance.
Oversee day-to-day operations of the entire Imaging service including clinical and administrative.
Provide staff support to ensure effective reporting, evaluation and fee requirements associated with the accreditation of the organization.
Serve as a program manager, co-manger, or administrator of several information systems that are utilized throughout Miami VAHS.

Qualifications
To qualify for this position, applicants must meet all requirements by the closing date of this announcement, 11/08/2024.
Time-In-Grade Requirement: Applicants who are current Federal employees and have held a GS grade any time in the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements by the closing date of this announcement. For a GS-12 position you must have served 52 weeks at the GS-11. The grade may have been in any occupation, but must have been held in the Federal service. An SF-50 that shows your time-in-grade eligibility must be submitted with your application materials. If the most recent SF-50 has an effective date within the past year, it may not clearly demonstrate you possess one-year time-in-grade, as required by the announcement. In this instance, you must provide an additional SF-50 that clearly demonstrates one-year time-in-grade.
You may qualify based on your experience as described below:
Specialized Experience: You must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade GS-11 in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. Examples of specialized experience would typically include, but are not limited to: Collaborate with clinical and administrative services and appropriate committees to plan and evaluate; provide technical expertise and support for cohesive team-building leadership; formulate budgets; function as an approving official for both purchase card acquisitions and invoices; oversee day-to-day operations including clinical and administrative; procurement planning, administrative management, and technical management.

Physical Requirements: The work is primarily sedentary, although some slight physical effort may be required.
