This position serves as Without Compensation Research Assistant within the Office of Research and Development. The VA Research Program strives to promote Veteran-centered care to improve patient experiences and outcomes across VA healthcare and community settings, and to advance value-driven care by providing Veterans the highest quality care at the lowest financial burden.
Please note, there is not pay associated with this position.
Duties
Major duties and responsibilities will include:
Conducting research to develop and assess neuroplasticity changes in sensory-motor connections following central nervous system injuries (e.g., stroke, amputation, spinal cord injury).
The incumbent will combine robotic measures with neurophysiology to evaluate kinematic and physiological changes, using non-invasive electroencephalography (EEG) and other techniques.
The incumbent will be involved in all stages of research, from experimental design to data collection, analysis, and dissemination through conferences and publications.

Qualifications
Basic Requirements:
Experience: You must possess general experience in any type of work that demonstrates (1) Conducting research to develop and assess neuroplasticity changes in sensory-motor connections following central nervous system injuries (e.g., stroke, amputation, spinal cord injury).
Education: You must possess a a doctoral degree from an accredited college or university in an Engineering Sciences field (Copies of transcripts are required at the time of application).
