This position is located with the Bureau of Indian Affairs, Superintendent, Wind River Agency in Fort Washakie, Wyoming. This position performs technical rangeland management work in support of natural resource management programs in rangeland environments.

Duties
Assist with monitoring of grazing allotment to ensure compliance, available AUMS, and take action when violations occur.
Monitor rangeland inventory and health for use of forge resources, water availability and livestock usage.
Prepares lease documents and encodes into automated system and maintained lease files.
Utilize and interpret aerial photographs, topographic maps, remote sensing data, computer driven linear measuring system, GPS, GIS and personal knowledge of the reservation.
Provide technical support and services to Federal, State, Tribal, local agencies, and the general public

Individual Occupational Requirements
Specialized Experience (for positions at GS-4 and above)
Examples of qualifying specialized experience include:
Work in the conservation, regulation, and use of public or Federally controlled lands for grazing.
Range research activities.
Work in the operation of a livestock ranch or in assisting in the management or preservation of lands comparable to the public range.
Range or forest fire control, prevention, or suppression work.
In addition, you must meet the following:
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Your resume must demonstrate at least one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector performing the following type of work and/or tasks:
GS-7: Assist in vegetation data collection for ongoing and updates of soil and range inventories by assisting in the design, description and range interpretations of mapping units, including the gathering of range and woodland vegetation data to support these mapping units. Assists in developing and maintaining a current reservation technical plans, detailed technical plans for management units, and annual plans for management units. Interacts with external entities such as Federal, State, Tribal, and local agencies, and private companies. Coordinate with managers, planners, and resource specialists to identify Agency and reservation needs on a local scale and develop long and short-term plans to
address needs.
GS-8: Working in the conservation, regulation and use of public or federally controlled lands for grazing; Range research activities; work in the operation of a livestock ranch or in assisting in the management of preservation of lands comparable to the public range; Range or forest fire control, prevention or suppression work. Conducts field investigation to ensures compliance with lease terms. Violations and/or trespassing actions are complete and timely. Assisting in the management or preservation of lands comparable to the public range. Experience and knowledge in Federal, State and Tribal grazing regulations, range management practices and procedures. Experience with maps, GPS and Arc mapping programs.
