You will serve as a QUALITY ASSURANCE SPECIALIST of NAV DOSIMETRY CENTER BETHESDA.
THIS IS A DIRECT HIRE ANNOUNCEMENT. Section 1109 of the National Defense Authorization Act Fiscal Year 2020 Public Law 116-92 amended Section 9905 of title 5, United States Code (U.S.C.) to streamline and simplify certain Department of Defense civilian Direct Hire Authorities to recruit and appoint qualified candidates directly to certain positions in the competitive service in the Department of Defense.
Duties
You will independently plan and execute internal audits, critically evaluating processes and procedures to ensure comprehensive QMS compliance.
You will spearhead documentation control efforts, ensuring all records are meticulously maintained, accurate, and readily accessible.
You will oversee critical testing and calibration processes, verifying strict adherence to established procedures and protocols.
You will take initiative in the design and delivery of comprehensive training programs focused on quality procedures and laboratory safety.
You will provide expert support, demonstrating the laboratory's commitment to transparency and accountability.
Requirements

- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
Experience utilizing knowledge of laboratory procedures, particularly within the context of dosimetry, and be well-versed in NVLAP requirements.
Experience communicating and collaborating, as the Specialist will be responsible for fostering a collaborative environment and effectively communicating technical information.
Experience utilizing statistical process control and data analysis software.
Experience utilizing knowledge of relevant Navy instructions and safety protocols, ensuring a secure working environment for all personnel
Experience adapting to changing work assignments, deadlines, and competing demands.

SUBSTITUTION OF EDUCATION:
Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree
or
3 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree
or
LL.M., if related
