You will serve as a Deputy Director Equal Employment Opportunity (DDEEO) for the COMMANDER US FLEET FORCES COMMAND. You will manage a comprehensive Equal Employment Opportunity program to include program development, administration, evaluation and advisory functions.

Duties

You will serve as the principle advisor on EEO issues to the installation commander; provide information on EEO laws, policies and employment regulations as well as provide information on policies and practices to applicants, employees and managers. You will focus on the solution of individual, institutional and systemic problems, and eliminates barriers to equality of opportunity for all employees. You will serve on a variety of management committees and boards that address organizational considerations, staffing requirements and various human resources activities. You will oversee all aspects of informal and formal complaint process. You will oversee all aspects of the reasonable accommodation process. You will review EEO Program areas to identify and develop equal employment opportunity training plans for supervisory development and mandatory annual EEO and bi-annual training for all employees. You will collect, analyze and prepare reports on workforce profiles, complaint processing, MD 715 requirements, special emphasis and various trend data studies in order to assess progress towards affirmative employment goals. You will supervise a staff of EEO Specialists performing work to support the EEO program.

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • Supervisors in the executive branch have a heightened personal responsibility for advancing government ethics. You will be required to review the 14 General Principles of Ethical Conduct at 5 CFR 2635.101.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-12) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector executing and evaluating a civilian federal equal employment opportunity (EEO) program to include advising on the application of equal employment opportunity (EEO) program requirements and developing strategic initiatives and recommendations for senior leaders..
