Duties
The primary purpose of this position is: To exercise second level supervisory and managerial authority over the Military and Family Readiness Flight assigned to the Force Support Squadron. Serves as consultant to commanders and installation level leadership, providing a wide range of work/life services to units and leaders on individual, family, and community issues toward developing resilient, ready Airmen/Guardians. These services include, but are not limited to, deployment support, crisis and disaster response support, career, transition, relocation, financial assistance, personal and work life education, exceptional family member support, emergency response/assistance, long term survivor support, and voting assistance activities provided to military members, retirees, Department of Defense (DoD) civilian members, and their families.
DUTY 1: Plans, organizes, and oversees the activities of the Military and Family Readiness Flight.
DUTY 2: Exercises supervisory personnel management responsibilities.
DUTY 3: Represents the Force Support Squadron with a variety of installation and functional area organizations.
DUTY 4: Establishes, defines, and implements requirements for Military and Family Readiness programs to ensure operations are in line with regulatory and fiscal requirements, support goals, and mission requirements.

Qualifications
In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Individual Occupational Requirements for 0101 series and Group Standard for Professional & Scientific Positions.
BASIC REQUIREMENT OR INDIVIDUAL OCCUPATIONAL REQUIREMENT
Degree: behavioral or social science; or related disciplines appropriate to the position.
OR
Four years of appropriate experience that demonstrated that the applicant has acquired knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field.
OR
Combination of education and experience that provided the applicant with knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field.
In addition to meeting the basic requirement above, to qualify for this position you must also meet the qualification requirements listed below:
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-12, or equivalent in other pay systems. Examples of specialized experience includes concepts, principles, theories, and practices relating to social or behavioral science; financial, budget, resource management practices and principles, and analytical and evaluative methods and techniques; organizing and utilizing community resources; career, transition, relocation, financial assistance, family life education and other work and life services and activities. Note: You must submit a copy of official transcripts.
FEDERAL TIME-IN-GRADE (TIG) REQUIREMENT FOR GENERAL SCHEDULE (GS) POSITIONS: Merit promotion applicants must meet applicable time-in-grade requirements to be considered eligible. One year at the GS-12 level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-13 level. TIG applies if you are in a current GS position or held a GS position within the previous 52 weeks. NOTE: Applicants applying as VEOA candidates who are current GS civil service employees or are prior GS civil service employees within the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:
1. Professional knowledge of concepts, principles, theories, and practices relating to social or behavioral science.
2. Knowledge of financial, budget, resource management practices and principles, and analytical and evaluative methods and techniques.
3. Knowledge of safety, security, personnel management, and EEO regulations, practices and procedures.
4. Skill in effectively organizing and utilizing community resources within the program framework to augment the program to meet installation objectives.
5. Ability to plan, organize, and direct the functions and mentor, motivate, and appraise the staff of an organization.
6. Ability to analyze, plan, and adjust work operations of one or more organizational segments to meet program requirements and objectives within available resources.
OTHER SIGNIFICANT FACTS:
1. Work may occasionally require travel away from the normal duty station on military or commercial aircraft.
2. Employee may be required to work extended or other than normal duty hours to include evenings, weekends, and/or holidays and may be subject to recall.
3. The work requires the incumbent to obtain and maintain the appropriate security clearance.
PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
