About the Position: Performs administrative and technical support duties to assist the office in accomplishing the overall responsibilities of the regulatory program.
Duties
Receive visitors and telephone calls and respond to requests for information or refer them to the proper person or office.
Utilize credit card to make authorized government purchases for services, supplies, and equipment.
Oversees organization of the office file system, retrieves files, and researches files upon request by Project Managers.
Receives and reviews incoming regulatory actions in the database and takes appropriate administrative action.
Evaluates less complex or routine applications for Department of the Army permits.
Prepares correspondence to staff and applicants including emails, forms, letters, requests for additional information, submitting applications, status of applications, etc.
Requirements
- Obtain and maintain a valid State Driver’s license.
- One (1) year probationary period may be required if not completed previously.
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.

In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Specialized Experience to qualify at the GS-05 level: One year of specialized experience which includes: 1) Inputting data using office software such as Microsoft Office on an automated system (computer/laptop/tablet); 2) Answering phone inquiries and directing to the appropriate staff member; and 3) filing documentation. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-04).
OR
Education: Four years of education above the high school level obtained in an accredited business, secretarial or technical school, junior college, college or university.
OR
Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide your semester hours of education beyond two years (total semester hours minus 60) by 60. Add the two percentages.
Specialized Experience to qualify at the GS-06 level: One year of specialized experience which includes: 1) Utilizing automated software databases for conducting research, data entry, and reporting requirements; 2) Distributing email and correspondence (i.e. memos, letters, faxes, and forms); and 3) Inventorying office supplies. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-05).
OR
Education: A half year (i.e., 9 semester hours) of graduate level education in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as Office or Business Administration.
OR
Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) by 9. Add the two percentages.
Specialized Experience to qualify at the GS-07 level: One year of specialized experience which includes: 1) Handling administrative requests and queries from senior managers, staff, and the public; 2) Developing and maintaining a filing system; 3) Utilizing automated software databases for conducting research, data entry, and reporting requirements; 4) Writing and distributing email and correspondence (i.e. memos, letters, faxes, and forms); 5) Ordering office supplies using a government credit card, coordinating purchases with vendors, and reconciling purchases. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-06).

Education: One full year of graduate level education in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as Office or Business Administration.
OR
Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) by 18. Add the two percentages.
