Duties
Responsible for providing Psychological Services to inmates in a Reintegration Housing Unit (RHU) at a Bureau of Prisons (BOP) federal correction facility. The RHU serves a sub-population of Bureau inmates characterized by a need to be separated from the general population because of safety and/or security reasons. This sub-population presents unique treatment and risk management concerns requiring specialized skill in risk assessment, behavior management, and clinical treatment. Responsibilities include (1) conducting behavioral, clinical, and risk assessments of inmates in reintegration housing; (2) identifying treatment needs and providing appropriate clinical interventions; and (3) identifying, managing, and treating mental illnesses. Requires consultation with Correctional Services staff on a routine basis. Along with all other correctional institution employees, incumbent is charged with responsibility for maintaining security of the institution. The staff's correctional responsibilities precede all others required by this position and are performed on a regular and recurring basis.

Qualifications
To be considered for the position, you must meet the following: Basic Requirements: Satisfactory completion of all the requirements for a doctoral degree (Ph.D. or equivalent) directly related to full professional work in clinical psychology is required. NOTE: Applicants may have received this degree in either clinical or counseling psychology. AND In addition to the basic requirements, you must have: Education: There is no substitution of education for specialized experience for this position at this grade level. Experience: At least one year of specialized experience equivalent in difficulty and complexity to the next lower grade level. To be creditable, this experience must have equipped the applicant with the particular qualifications to successfully perform the duties of the position, and that is typically be in or related to the position to be filled. Some examples of the qualifying experience are: GS-12:
Experience that demonstrates professional knowledge of theories, principles, practices and techniques of clinical/counseling psychology to accurately diagnose, manage, and treat behaviorally disordered and/or disruptive inmates.
Experience in administering and interpreting psychology tests and utilizing the information to prepare reports and make treatment recommendations.
Experience in delivering evidence-based treatment interventions for behaviorally disordered offenders.
Experience in implementing correctional/risk management and/or treatment plans for behaviorally disordered offenders.
GS-13:
Experience that demonstrates professional knowledge of theories, principles, practices and techniques of clinical/counseling psychology to accurately diagnose, manage, and treat behaviorally disordered and/or disruptive inmates.
Experience in conducting psychological assessments and preparing reports related to those assessments of mentally ill and/or behaviorally disordered individuals.
Experience in providing administrative oversight over and delivering evidence-based interventions for behaviorally disordered offenders.
Experience in developing and implementing correctional/risk management and/or treatment plans for behaviorally disordered offenders.

Applicants must hold a full, current, and unrestricted license to practice psychology at the doctoral level in a State, Territory, Commonwealth of the United States (e.g., Puerto Rico), or the District of Columbia.
