THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION. This National Guard position is for a TRAINING OFFICER T32, Position Description Number PDD1179000 and is part of the AZ WAATS, National Guard.

Duties

This position is located with the WAATS in Marana, AZ. The purpose of the position is to function as the Officer in Charge (OIC) of the organization, representing the commander in oversight and conduct of all functions of the organization and is responsible to ensure the Commander's policies are implemented. Develops training, mobilization and safety plans and procedures for the command. Provides staff planning and assistance to insure that required training, safety and readiness objectives are achieved and mobilization planning requirements are accomplished. Activities at this level are concerned with the training of military personnel in a wide variety of occupations including clerical, trades and labor, administrative, technical, and/or professional skills. THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION.

Requirements

  • ARIZONA ARMY NATIONAL GUARD MEMBERSHIP IS REQUIRED. Prior to appointment into this position, selectee must be a current member of the Arizona Army National Guard, in a military organization supported by the WAATS.
  • This is an excepted service position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the employing state's National Guard, required prior to the effective date of placement.
  • Selectee will be required to wear the military uniform.
  • Acceptance of an excepted service position constitutes concurrence with these requirements as a condition of employment.
  • Applicants who are not currently a member of the National Guard must be eligible for immediate membership and employment in the National Guard in the military grade listed in this announcement.
  • Males born after 31 December 1959 must be registered for Selective Service.
  • Federal employment suitability as determined by a background investigation.
  • May be required to successfully complete a probationary period.
  • Participation in direct deposit is mandatory.
  • Incumbent must possess and maintain a current state driver’s license.
  • Must maintain the appropriate security clearance of the position.
  • Irregular (compensatory) hours may be required to support operational requirements or contingencies or may be required to work hours outside of the normal duty day.

Qualifications

Military Grades: WO1/W1 - CW2/W2, or 1LT/O2-CPT/O3 Compatible Military Assignments: Must possess or are able to qualify for the MOS O1A GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Ability to follow directions, read, understand, and retain instructions, regulations, and procedures that otherwise validate the ability to perform or learn to perform the duties of the position. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Must possess 1-year specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade. Knowledge of Army or Air Force education and training programs regarding their principles and procedures. Experience in performing interviews and counseling techniques; training techniques and instruction methods; task analysis procedures, learning processes, curriculum development, training evaluations, and education and training systems and products; effective writing skills; editing practices; instructional media application, training reporting, program and curriculum validation, and implementation procedures. Experience in scheduling training events and facilities; supporting assistance visits and training meetings; or assisting in work center and individual job qualification standard development; education institution registration requirements; and military personnel classification system and policies. Experience in the capabilities of communicative interpersonal skill applications and distance learning concepts. Experience as a participant and presenter during training and military or civilian conference events. Experience includes knowledge in training centers, training programs, schools, and units. Experience in conducting or developing education and training programs. Experience conducting, supervising, or developing education or training programs. An understanding of the Army or Air Force education and training policy requirements. Experiences in working programs to include developmental education, voluntary education, advanced academic education, promotion testing, and libraries. Knowledge of audio-visual presentation, educational tests, and measurements, and instructing techniques.
