About the Position: This Operations Research Analyst position is located at the U.S. Army Operational Test Command, Capabilities Integration Division, with a duty location of Fort Cavazos, Texas (merit).
The U.S. Army Test and Evaluation Command has various incentives that may be available for highly qualified candidates. These include Relocation Incentives and Permanent Change of Station Allowance.
Duties
Serves as an expert and mentor in the areas of requirement development; study design; data collection, reduction, analysis, and visualization; and communicating results for assigned projects using scientific methods.
Performs as an Action Officer for projects directed by the Commanding General, United States Army Operations Test Center (USAOTC). Determines assignments, data collection techniques, theorem and/or methodology for analysis.
Applies professional knowledge and broad experience in advanced scientific or mathematical techniques and military operations to the study and analysis of command-wide projects to support senior leader decision making.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment. A background investigation and credit check are required.
- This is an Army Acquisition, Logistics and Technology Workforce position. Selectee must meet position requirements for Test and Evaluation Certification within 60 months of entrance on duty.
- This position is subject to a Temporary Duty or business travel requirement of 40% or less of the time.
- A one-year trial/probationary period may be required.

Basic Education Requirement for Operations Research - 1515 series:
A. Degree: Bachelor's degree (or higher degree) in operations research; or a bachelor's degree (or higher degree) with at least 24 semester hours in a combination of operations research, mathematics, probability, statistics, mathematical logic, science, or subject-matter courses requiring substantial competence in college-level mathematics or statistics. At least 3 of the 24 semester hours must have been in calculus.
In addition to meeting the basic educational requirement above, to qualify for this position you must also meet the qualification requirements listed below:
Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: 1) Developing test assessments, reviewing testing techniques, and/or performing analyses of test data.
This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (NH-02 or GS-11).
Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required specialized experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using specialized experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
