Duties

Plans and manages Transportation Division activities within available resources Serves as advisor to the LRC Director on overall matters relating to the division and serves as LRC's subject matter expert relating to transportation issues. Manages the division staff directly and through subordinate supervisors and performs the full range of first- and second-line supervisory functions. Serves as Transportation Division Chief for the Logistics Readiness Center (LRC) at a complex multi-mission installation. Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment. A background investigation and credit check are required.
  • This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 25% of the time.
  • Appointment to this position is subject to a one-year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 315.
  • This position is supervisory as defined by the Office of Personnel Management's (OPM) General Schedule Supervisory Guide (GSSG). A one-year probation to assess your ability to perform supervisory duties is required unless previously completed.
  • Incumbent is required to submit a Confidential Financial Disclosure Report, OGE-450, (5CFR Part 2634, Subpart I Confidential Financial Disclosure Reports) upon entering the position and annually.
  • The employee may be required to work other than normal duty hours, which may include evenings, weekends, and/or holidays. The employee may be required to work overtime.
  • Incumbent must be able to obtain and maintain appropriate valid state and/or government driver’s license.
  • This position is designated as a "Key” position. This position shall not be vacated during a national emergency or mobilization without seriously impacting the organization’s ability to function effectively.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes 1) Utilizing a wide range of transportation concepts, principles, and methodology of transportation operations; 2) Providing technical transportation management advise on complex transportation movement techniques; 3) Completing special studies concerning space, facilities, equipment, funds, and manpower needed for current and/or new operations. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12). You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Administration and ManagementDecision MakingLeadershipTransportation Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-12).
