About the Position: Performs project and program management duties for Corps of Engineers Civil Works Flood plain management services and water resources projects of high dollar value, of national priority, of environmental sensitivity, of extraordinary urgency, or having similar requirements.

Duties
Review and approve operating plans and approaches, establishes overall project priorities, procedures, and short and long range goals.
Directs, coordinates and manages the Districts Floodplain management services program.
Plans, programs and oversees cost and schedule execution of the planning, design, and construction of Civil Works water resources projects.
Reviews and approves operating plans and approaches, establishes overall project priorities, procedures, and short and long range goals.
Establishes the technical framework and guidance for accomplishment of objectives within the District's in-house and contractual capabilities.
Represents the District in meetings and conferences.
Respond to questions and concerns from project stakeholders (internal and external).
Requirements

In addition to meeting the basic requirement above, to qualify for this position you must also meet the qualification requirements listed below:
Specialized Experience: At least one year of specialized experience at the GS-12 level in the Federal Government (or equivalent) which includes
(1) Developing scopes of work, schedules, and budgets for Flood Plain Management Services (FPMS):
AND
2) Planning Assistance to States (PAS) or related flood management (possibly related water resources instead of flood management) program.
This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12).
Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-12).
