You will serve as a Accountant (Staff) in the Financial Reporting and Accounting Policy Branch of NAVAL SUPPLY SYSTEMS COMMAND.
Duties
You will review and analyze ERP and related accounting systems/reports for fiduciary accuracy and completeness, and initiate corrective action if necessary.
You will perform financial accounting system analysis for Working Capital Funds open documents and financial reports.
You are responsible for extracting standard general ledger (SGL) data applicable to open documents and financial statement line items from the accounting system.
You will review and reconcile undistributed disbursements/collections, unliquidated obligations, accounts receivable, accounts payable, and performance reports related to ERP (and similar) accounting.
You will review, assess, and analyze accounting and financial reports for Working Capital Funds accounting accuracy issues.

- This is a Financial Management Level II certified position per the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) 2012, Section 1599d. You must achieve this level within prescribed timelines. Certification requirements are in DoD Instruction 1300.26.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
- You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
Qualifications
In addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized financial management analyst experience equivalent to the GS - 11 grade level in the Federal Service or equivalent demonstrating knowledge and skill applying principles, concepts and practices to perform assignments concerning financial management and budget. Specific work experience must demonstrate duties such as the following: 1) Utilizing automated financial systems to extract, interpret, and analyze financial reports and statistical data; 2) Analyzing and interpreting financial data from multiple financial systems to identify issues and determine trends; 3) Evaluating and identifying accounting system deficiencies, policy issues, training needs and problems to take care or recommend corrective action; and 4) Advising or assisting management on account and financial matters.

Applicants must meet the following positive education qualifications requirements of the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualifications Standards Manual: Applicants must possess
A. Degree: accounting; or a degree in a related field such as business administration, finance, or public administration that included or was supplemented by 24 semester hours in accounting. The 24 hours may include up to 6 hours of credit in business law. (The term "accounting" means "accounting and/or auditing" in this standard. Similarly, "accountant" should be interpreted, generally, as "accountant and/or auditor.")

B. Combination of education and experience: at least 4 years of experience in accounting, or an equivalent combination of accounting experience, college-level education, and training that provided professional accounting knowledge. The applicant's background must also include
one of the following:
- Twenty-four semester hours in accounting or auditing courses of appropriate type and quality. This can include up to 6 hours of business law;
- A certificate as Certified Public Accountant or a Certified Internal Auditor, obtained through written examination; or
- Completion of the requirements for a degree that included substantial course work in accounting or auditing, e.g., 15 semester hours, but that does not fully satisfy the 24-semester-hour requirement of paragraph A, provided that (a) the applicant has successfully worked at the full-performance level in accounting, auditing, or a related field, e.g., valuation engineering or financial institution examining; (b) a panel of at least two higher level professional accountants or auditors has determined that the applicant has demonstrated a good knowledge of accounting and of related and underlying fields that equals in breadth, depth, currency, and level of advancement that which is normally associated with successful completion of the 4-year course of study described in paragraph A; and (c) except for literal nonconformance to the requirement of 24 semester hours in accounting, the applicant's education, training, and experience fully meet the specified requirements.
