These positions are located in Yosemite National Park, in the Division of Facilities Management, Branch of Buildings and Grounds. Duty Stations: El Portal, CA; Wawona, CA - Yosemite National Park Open to the first 125 applicants or until 11/12/2024, whichever comes first. Duties

4 of these positions are Career-Seasonal positions and subject to release and recall procedures. A permanent career-seasonal position includes all the benefits of permanent employment but does not provide employment on a full year-round basis. As such, selectees will be in a non-pay/non-duty status for at least 2 weeks to 6 months per year based on project requirements or weather conditions. Selectees are guaranteed to work at least 6 months per year but not more than 50 weeks per year, with the work schedule to be determined upon appointment. 3 Career Seasonal positions will be located in El Portal and 1 Career Seasonal position will be located in Wawona. 2 El Portal positions will be in non-pay status in February and 1 El Portal position and 1 Wawona position will be in non-pay status in January. 1 permanent full-time position is located in Wawona. Duties require competence and working knowledge of accepted practices of the applicable trade and craft areas. Perform building/structure maintenance and operation duties utilizing journey level knowledge and skills in a variety of trades. Uses common power and hand tools as well as materials associated with these trades. Performs journey level skill in at least three of the following trade areas, and sub-journey level in all the others: Carpentry, Plumbing, Painting, Roofing, Electrical and Masonry. Yosemite National Park, California, known worldwide for its spectacular natural beauty is the backdrop for this position. Sitting astride the Sierra Nevada Mountains, the park covers 1,182 square miles of varied wilderness ecosystems, from river valleys to alpine meadows to lofty 13,000-foot-high peaks. Yosemite Valley is located 208 miles from San Francisco, 81 miles from Merced, and 94 miles from Fresno. Shopping, medical, postal and laundry services are available in the park. Elevation at the Valley floor is approximately 4,000 feet and 2,200 feet in El Portal. The park is open year-round with the majority of activities occurring during the busy season March through October.
