The position is located in the Architect of the Capitol (AOC), Office of Inspector General (OIG). Seeking an independent and reliable Criminal Investigator to assists in the development and execution of investigations and operations that affect critical aspects of major agency-wide programs.
This is a career ladder position requiring the incumbent to perform progressively more complex duties and responsibilities leading to the full performance level.
Duties
Serves as a Criminal Investigator and a designated special agent who carries firearms in the performance of official duties.

- You must be able to pass a drug test.
- Top Secret clearance and a valid driver’s license is required.
Qualifications
You must meet the United States Office of Personnel Management's (OPM) qualification requirements (including specialized experience and/or educational requirements) for the advertised position. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the position to be filled. To be creditable, specialized experience must have been equivalent to at least the next lower grade level. Candidates for the GS-11 grade level must have at least 52 weeks of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-09 grade level in the Federal service.
Specialized experience for this position includes having at least 4 of 5 following (experience must be identified in resume):
1.) Supports higher graded criminal investigators with investigations of alleged violations of the U.S. Criminal and Civil Codes, in accordance with the Federal Rules of Criminal Procedure, along with laws, regulations or AOC Policies and Procedures..
2.) Assists with interviews and interrogations of witnesses and suspects and obtains proof of a crime or of administrative misconduct.
3.) Assists in link analysis of disparate information using analytical software to make connections and identify patterns of misconduct.
4.) Develops and executing complex investigations and operations which encompass difficult and diverse functions or issues that affect critical aspects of major agency-wide programs.
5.) Supports liaison operations and maintains relationships with other government investigation and law enforcement agencies.
ORA Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree; or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree; or possession of a LL.M. degree, if related. Graduate level education must demonstrate the competencies necessary to do the work of the position, examples of qualifying fields include law enforcement;ORA combination of education and experience as listed above.
