As an Examination Technician, you will perform technician work in support of examinations of midsize and community banks such as preparing data for automated financial systems, and supporting bank examiners by writing summaries of audits or financial reports or recommending conclusions against definitive criteria.

Duties
As an Examination Technician, you will:
Perform specialized tasks in support of assigned bank examinations, such as transaction testing, Quality Control reviews, and preparing recurring/standard and custom reports.
Review bank records including Call Reports and other bank reports to trace financial transactions, identify discrepancies, and prepare spreadsheets to reflect the source(s) of discrepancies, and corrective action(s) required to resolve discrepancies.
Respond to information inquiries from banks on a wide range of topics, e.g., corporate applications, OCC bulletins, banking alerts, Suspicious Activity Report (SAR) filing requirements, etc.
Compile and verify the accuracy of financial data (audit report findings, Call Reports, and FinCEN download data) to be included in memos, reports, schedules, and comparative analyses.
Prepare spreadsheets and tables to track various audits and examination information; prepare custom uniform bank performance reports; and prepare correspondence, documents, and a variety of other reports in support of bank examinations.
Provide administrative and technical support for the assigned organization which includes maintaining schedules, arranging meetings; and preparing correspondence, charts, and documents.
Qualifications
You must meet the following requirements within 30 calendar days after the closing date of this announcement:You must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the NB-III band level. Examples of qualifying specialized experience for this position include:
Researching, assembling, and analyzing financial data to validate financial statements or reports; AND
Processing financial transactions, creating and maintaining financial spreadsheets/ accounts, and resolving account discrepancies.

You may substitute education for experience as follows: One (1) full year of graduate education meets the requirements where it is directly related to the work of the position. One (1) year of full-time graduate education is considered to be the number of credit hours that the school attended has determined to represent one (1) year of full-time study. If that information cannot be obtained from the school, eighteen (18) semester hours should be considered as satisfying the one (1) year of full-time study requirements.

An equivalent combination of education and experience.
The experience may have been gained in the public sector, private sector, or through volunteer service. One year of experience refers to full-time work; part-time work is considered on a prorated basis.
