Duties

Screen and interview patients. Perform psychological and bio-psychosocial evaluations. Work with Command and other health care providers to determine appropriate course of treatment. Provide individual and/or group psychological counseling utilizing a variety of treatment modalities to Active Duty service members. Use objective and measurable outcomes to evaluate treatment effectiveness and make adjustments if appropriate for increased compliance and efficacy. Oversee and interpret appropriate psychological testing. Provide definitive diagnoses and formulate behavioral health interventions.

Requirements

• Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
• On-call holidays and weekends work schedule is required.
• This position has been designated "Mission Essential".
• In the event of severe weather conditions or other such emergency type situations (natural or man-made disaster) the incumbent is required to report to work or remain at work as scheduled to support mission operations.
• Applicants must be able to fulfill credentialing requirements and obtain and maintain appropriate/relevant clinical privileges.
• This position requires regular contact with children under the age 18 and a favorable determination of suitability to do so.
• This position requires Basic Life Support training certification from, or in accordance with, the American Heart Association and American Red Cross. Current Advanced Life Support or other advanced certification does not supersede BLS completion.

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Basic Requirement for Clinical Psychologist: Degree: Doctoral Degree (Ph.D. or equivalent) directly related to full professional work in clinical psychology. NOTE: (You must attach a copy of your transcripts) Selective Placement Factor Licensure: This position requires a current, active, valid, unrestricted clinical license to practice Psychology independently, offered by a U.S. State, District of Columbia, commonwealth, territory or jurisdiction. NOTE: (You must attach a copy of your license) In addition to meeting the basic requirement above, to qualify for this position you must also meet the qualification requirements below: Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: performing one or more of the following, conducting psychological evaluations, developing behavioral health treatment plans, and providing psychological counseling services. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12). Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
