Duty Location: Clark County, Nevada
THIS POSITION IS LOCATED AT THE HOOVER DAM, ELECTRICAL GROUP
Duties
The journey level Electrician (Power Systems) duties include:
Connects and services distribution transformers, instrument transformers, various types of switches, and the simpler metering, relaying and control schemes with little or no immediate supervision.
Troubleshoots, repairs, and maintains electrical equipment and circuits in high voltage substations and/or hydroelectric generating stations.
Installs switchboards and devices and wires them from adequate drawings in a neat and workmanlike manner.
Reads intelligently and works from the more simple station drawings, including schematic drawings.
Adjusts and repairs electrical equipment, makes splices and connections, installs conduit and buss', tests, circuits, diagnoses trouble and performs related duties,
Operates high-voltage switches and related devices in connection with the work and sets up safe clearances by orders of the dispatchers or similar persons.
Works on portable and emergency generators; maintains security card access, fire safety control and hoist and cableway systems; and heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems to include chillers and cooling towers and the control system to support the HVAC system.
Performs preventative and regular maintenance; inspections; and troubleshooting on elevators and escalators in accordance with appropriate standards.

Minimum qualifications for trades and labor positions are determined by evaluation of job elements. You must meet at least 2 points on the screen-out element(s) and obtain an average of at least 2 points on all of the job elements in order to be considered qualified for this position.

Selective Placement Factor: This position requires a current, valid Driver License. Failure to provide proof of such license will cause you to be rated ineligible for this position.
