You will serve as an ENGINEERING TECHNICIAN in the Waterfront Operations located at Guam Detachment of PEARL HARBOR NSY AND IMF.
Duties
You will serve as a senior level engineering technician responsible for executing the non-nuclear testing program and directing the work control program on ships undergoing repairs.
You will develop and coordinate the completed preparation for integrated ship systems work and testing.
You will ensure ship's safety, personnel safety and equipment safety during the performance of work and testing.
You will authorize work on ship's system and components in a controlled order to ensure that rigorous safety standards are met by utilizing the Work Authorization Form (WAF) process.
You will review and concur on SUBSAFE Task Group Instructions (TGIs) for specified Hull and Mechanical test requirements.
You will provide technical decisions tempered with productivity goals in releasing and isolating these systems which interface between the nuclear and combat systems.

- This position may require travel to places within and outside the contiguous United States which could include remote or isolated sites. You may be required to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
- If eligible for permanent change of station, the appointee will be required to sign a transportation agreement to establish a Government time in service requirement of 12 months.

- You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

Qualifications
GS-12: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: planning and interpreting engineering technical guides; resolving critical technical engineering problems; preparing estimates and/or developing technical engineering instructions and procedures to execute projects related to submarines and ships; tag-out, and SUBSAFE testing.
GS-11: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: assisting with resolving engineering problems, project design and projects related to submarine and ship repair; tag-out, and SUBSAFE testing.
