This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for DIB/MRTFB to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service.
Duties
Performs a full range of supervisory duties including the develop plans and schedules to guide organizations supervised; analyze work requirements and determine staff resources, equipment, and other resources needed to accomplish work assignments.
Oversees fire reporting data and reports to higher headquarters.
Attends installation town hall, mayors, unit, and special interest group meetings to determine how the Division can better serve the community.
Studies and analyzes the installation’s activities and develops fire prevention and protection programs to meet the needs of this installation.

- The incumbent is required to sign a DA Form 5019-R (Alcohol and Drug Abuse Prevention and Control Program).
- Incumbent must participate in a cardiovascular physical fitness program.
Qualifications

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes directing firefighters engaged in providing fire prevention and protection services using knowledge of firefighting and fire prevention theories and techniques; providing training in fire protection and prevention; determining materials, equipment, and supplies necessary for a fire prevention operation.
This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower (GS-10).
Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone -- no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
In addition to meeting the specialized experience requirement above, applicants must also possess Fire Officer III Fire Inspector II, Fire Instructor II, HAZMAT Materials Incident Commander, Airport Firefighter certified through DoD Fire and Emergency Services Certification System, International Fire Service Accreditation Congress (IFSAC), or the Fire Service Professional Qualifications System (PRO-Board) in accordance with DoD 6055.06-M.
