About the Position: Perform a variety of inventory, research, receipt, and reconciliation, in order to maintain an accurate custodial balance of warehouse supplies and equipment. Maintain property records according to established procedures, SOPs, and Army Regulations. The work requires knowledge on how to perform warehousing operations such as: ordering, conducting follow-up/status, distribution/delivery, storage processing receipts and inventory procedures.

Duties

Operate mechanized equipment to move items to designated areas Organize items in established locations while making full utilization of space and materials. Edit supply requisitions for completeness, accuracy, and compliance with regulations. Assure quantities ordered are based on number of items on hand and reviews records for possible substitution of items. Prepare documents to replace lost, damaged, or destroyed government property to complete task.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • This position requires the completion of a pre-employment Physical Examination and an annual examination thereafter to ensure the continued, required level of physical health and ability or fitness to perform the duties of the position.
  • This position is subject to a pre-employment drug screening, and random testing thereafter, to include testing based on reasonable suspicion and testing due to direct involvement with an on-duty accident.
  • The duties of this position require the incumbent to possess or obtain and maintain a valid state Driver's License in one of the 50 U.S. states or possessions to operate vehicles.
  • This position has a requirement to lift up to 40 lbs. in the regular performance of duties.
  • This position requires a Forklift Operator license.
  • This position has a requirement to obtain and maintain driving credentials adequate for operating a 5-ton vehicle.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: performing inventory to maintain an accurate custodial balance of warehouse supplies; utilizing an automated supply data base to enter, correct, and retrieve reports; providing answers to customer inquiries regarding the status of deliveries and requisitions; AND performing technical supply management functions while following regulations, policies, and procedures. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-04). OR Education: Four years of education above the high school level obtained in an accredited business, secretarial or technical school, junior college, college or university. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide your semester hours of education beyond two years (total semester hours minus 60) by 60. Add the two percentages. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Equipment ApplicationInventory ManagementTechnical Competence Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-04).
