Duties
You will be responsible for reviewing, updating, developing, and enforcing cyber security instructions, guidance, and standard operating procedures.
You will apply knowledge of the Cyber Security policy, procedures, and structure to develop, implement, and maintain a secure computing environment.
You will participate in cybersecurity inspections, tests, and reviews.
You will assist in the development of long-range plan for cyber security sustainment.
You will complete all actions required by the Risk Management Framework (RMF) to assess and authorize (AA) Information Technology systems.
You will execute Continuous Monitoring Program activities for organizational IT systems.

- This position is designated as a Cyber IT/Cybersecurity Workforce position. You must obtain and maintain the credentials as described in SECNAV M-5239.2 for specialty area 461 (Systems Security Analyst) level 2 within 6 months of appointment.

- You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of information technology related experience in the federal service or private or public sector demonstrating the following four competencies, as defined:
In addition to your experience demonstrating the four competencies above, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Evaluating cyber security operations to ensure compliance with system security configuration guidelines; 2) Collecting data to meet system cyber security reporting requirements; 3) Resolving cyber security issues by identifying alternative solutions to various problems; 4) Providing advice to personnel on cyber security regulations, policies, procedures and programs; and 5) Providing input in drafting cyber security documentation (e.g., systems security plans, risk assessments, disaster recovery plans, business continuity plans, and/or user security guides.
1. Attention to Detail - Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: Conducting risk and vulnerability assessments of planned and installed information systems to identify vulnerabilities, risks, and protection needs.
2. Customer Service - Works with clients and customers (that is, any individuals who use or receive the services or products that your work unit produces, including the general public, individuals who work in the agency, other agencies, or organizations outside the Government) to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations; knows about available products and services; is committed to providing quality products and services. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: Provides support and guidance on Information Security practices, policies, and procedures.
3. Oral Communication - Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: Conduct training on the Information Assurance Awareness program for end users.
4. Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: Conduct analysis and recommends resolutions to problems and issues.
