About the Position: This position is with the Military Entrance Processing Command. Position Conducts aptitude and qualification examinations at the MEPS and Military Entrance Test (MET) sites for the applicants of the various Armed Services. Tests include the Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery (ASVAB), Computerized Adaptive Testing (CAT) - ASVAB, Internet CAT-ASVAB.

Duties

Briefs applicants, distributes examinations, scores exams, performs quality control of examination, sends results to appropriate personnel, and performs data entry of results into the appropriate accession reporting system. Ensures 100% security and accountability of all accountable test material when conducting test sessions. Scores enlistment and high school tests using automated and non-automated methods. Operates a variety of office automation equipment including personal computers, mobile computing devices, facsimile machines, scanners, digital copiers, and industrial shredders. Assists in conducting test material inventories as required and ensures strict accountability and security of all testing materials.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • Must possess or have ability to obtain a driver's license.
  • Occasional evening and weekend work is required. Evenings (if applicable): 1130-2000, Saturdays: 0530-1430, Sundays (if applicable): 1400-2000, Morning Opening Shift: 0530-1430.
  • Frequent local travel and occasional temporary duty (TDY) business travel may be required (may require hotel stay for multiple nights to meet mission requirements.

Qualifications

Who May Apply: US Citizens In order to qualify, you must meet the education and or experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Additional information about transcripts is in this document. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes (1) Conducting aptitude and/or qualification exams; (2) conducting qualification tests; (3) delivering briefings and distributing testing materials; AND (4) operating a variety of office automation equipment. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-04). OR Education: Four years of education above the high school level obtained in an accredited business, secretarial or technical school, junior college, college or university. Or Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide your semester hours of education beyond two years (total semester hours minus 60) by 60.
