You will serve as an ELECTRONICS ENGINEER in the FST ENGINEERING DIVISION of FLTREADCEN EAST.

Duties

You will provide the overarching Supervisory Electronics Engineering objectively based engineering information for making platform sustainment and acquisition decisions. You will oversee development or evaluation of engineering and logistics documents, engineering change proposals, technical directives, inspection/maintenance requirements, repairs and design of the platforms systems and components. You will oversee development and management of products and services required to sustain economic operation and ensure airworthiness. You will serve as the technical engineering authority for the FST assigned workload performed by the incumbent as well as subordinates.

Requirements

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • This position is covered under the Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA). Certification in the Acquisition Functional Area and category assigned to the position is required within established category timeframes.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Applying maintenance engineering principles related to fleet readiness; 2) Understanding of maintenance and repair techniques, as well as knowledge of relevant equipment and systems; 3) Applying engineering judgement to solve complex technical problems; 4) Communicating technical matters at various levels of leadership, fleet customers, and industry partners; 5) Understanding of safety protocols and be knowledgeable about safety regulations and procedures.
