THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION. This National Guard position is for a SECURITY SPECIALIST T32, Position Description Number PDD1276000 and is part of the AZ JFHQ ARMY, National Guard.

Duties

This position is located in Phoenix, AZ with the JFHQ-Army. The primary purpose of the position is to serve as a Special Security Representative (SSR) in support of the Special Security Officer (SSO). Performs the day-to-day operational duties within the SCIF in support of all SCI-associated security programs and measures. Provides detailed research and analysis on physical, information, computer, and personnel security. This position requires a comprehensive working knowledge of intelligence support operations, procedures, and practices. THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION.

Requirements

• ARIZONA ARMY NATIONAL GUARD MEMBERSHIP IS REQUIRED. Prior to appointment into this position, selectee must be a current member of the Arizona Army National Guard, in a military organization supported by the JFHQ.
• This is an excepted service position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the employing state's National Guard, required prior to the effective date of placement.
• Selectee will be required to wear the military uniform.
• Acceptance of an excepted service position constitutes concurrence with these requirements as a condition of employment.
• Applicants who are not currently a member of the National Guard must be eligible for immediate membership and employment in the National Guard in the military grade listed in this announcement.
• Males born after 31 December 1959 must be registered for Selective Service.
• Federal employment suitability as determined by a background investigation.
• May be required to successfully complete a probationary period.
• Participation in direct deposit is mandatory.
• Incumbent must possess and maintain a current state driver’s license.
• NOTE: Individual selected will receive an Indefinite Appointment and may be converted to permanent based on availability of funds or position no longer being encumbered.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret/Special Compartmented Information (TS/SCI) security clearance.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain the appropriate security clearance of the position.
• Irregular (compensatory) hours may be required to support operational requirements or contingencies or may be required to work hours outside of the normal duty day.

Qualifications

Military Grades: SSG/E6 to SFC/E7 Compatible Military Assignments: Must possess MOS 35F SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Must possess at least 1 year equivalent to at least GS-7 experience, education or training in collecting and analyzing data effectively, efficiently, and accurately. Able to apply procedures and directives by reading and interpreting technical material. Ability to communicate clearly and effectively orally and in writing, using presentation and report formats. Demonstrated ability to follow directions, to read, understand, and retain a variety of instructions, regulations, and procedures. Learned ability to assess the surrounding environment to recognize immediate risk levels. Must have the education and validated understanding of the basic principles and concepts of the occupational series and grade for one of the seven organizational program disciplines and its applicable Security Series career.
