About the Position: You will serve as a Human Resources Assistant (Military/OA) and performs a variety of administrative and clerical duties in support of the 20TH (CBRNE) COMMAND HEADQUARTERS & HEADQUARTERS COMPANY ABERDEEN PROVING GROUND, MD.
Duties
Exchange facts or information needed to complete assignments.
Perform a variety of interrelated personnel support work.
Resolve complex personnel cases involving policies and/or procedures related to rewards or evaluations.
Abide by formal security policies to ensure the protection of sensitive documents and/or files.
Review and/or analyze case files involving requests for correction of personnel records.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Individual selected must possess or be able to obtain and maintain a Secret Security Clearance.
- This position requires temporary duty (TDY) travel up to 15% of the time.
- One-year probationary period may be required.

In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes:
1) Ability to interpret regulations and/or procedures to provide advice and recommend corrective actions,
2) Using automated systems to maintain military records or files and/or generate reports or documents; AND
3) Effectively communicate orally and/or written assuring compliance with directives.
This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-06).
OR
Education: Four years of education above the high school level obtained in an accredited business, secretarial or technical school, junior college, college or university.
OR
Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide your semester hours of education beyond two years (total semester hours minus 60) by 60. Add the two percentages.
