You will serve as a SUPERVISORY FIREFIGHTER in the MARINE CORPS- FIRE AND EMEGENCY SERVICES MARINE CORPS AIR STATION YUMA.
Duties
You will serve as the Assistant Fire Chief in charge of the Emergency Operations Branch.
You will serve as a senior administrative staff member sharing in the overall management of both Operations shifts.
You will assume operational control at emergency incidents directing firefighting crews until relieved by the Fire Chief.
You will be responsible for the operation of Fire Stations, maintenance and upkeep of fire apparatus and equipment on shift, such as, structural, wildland, and aircraft firefighting, medical aid, multi-casualty incidents, etc.
You will assume responsibility for Fire and Emergency Services Division operations on his/her shift.
You will assign work other than firefighting as required. Oversee master operational roster and schedules, administered by the Station Chiefs, to assure adequate personnel and staff coverage during each shift.
You will review plans for construction and building modifications to assure compliance with DOD, Marine Corps and National Building Fire Codes.

- Must possess the following certifications issued either by the DOD, the Pro-Board, or the International Fire Service Accreditation Congress (IFSAC):Hazardous Materials Awareness; Hazardous Materials Operations; Technician and Incident Commander.
- Must possess the following certifications issued either by the DOD, the Pro-Board, or the International Fire Service Accreditation Congress (IFSAC): Fire Officer III; Fire Inspector II; Fire Instructor II.
- Must be trained and certified to the Department of Transportation or National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians Emergency Medical Responder or equivalent level.
- Must possess EVOC-Emergency Vehicle Operators Course and state driver’s license.
- Must possess FEMA Certifications: ICS-100, ICS-200, ICS-300, ICS-400, ICS-700 and ICS-800.
- This is a Mission Essential position. You will be required to ensure organization or facility continuity of operations and/or completion of tasks that are considered essential to the mission designated by a local or command decision.
- The employee must regularly lift and/or move more than 100 pounds, and occasionally lift up to 150 pounds.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: providing technical expertise, and training in fire protection efforts; assigning work requirements; directing firefighting operations; implementing plans and programs; and providing direction during emergency incidents.
