Duties
Structures and directs others' work on reservoir or levee projects.
Models' high standards of honesty, integrity, trust, openness, or respect for staff by applying the values to daily behaviors.
Knowledge of the physical, engineering, experimental equipment, operational characteristics of facilities, safety, or equipment development designed to support flood risk management, environmental stewardship, or recreation activities.
Prepares and manages contracts in accordance with Federal regulations.
Prepares, justifies, and monitor the execution of the project budgets.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Must possess and maintain a valid stateside driver's license.
- Travel is 20% of the time.
- A pre-employment physical is required for this position.
- Required to travel to other Project sites (Dam locations) throughout Pennsylvania and New York.
- May require periods of walking, standing, bending, climbing during inspections of bridges and visits to construction sites.
- Will be on call 24 hours a day during flood emergency situations.
- Required to submit a Confidential Financial Disclosure Report, OGE-450 upon entering the position and annually.
- Position is supervisory as defined by the Office of Personnel Management's (OPM) General Schedule Supervisory Guide (GSSG). A one-year probation to assess your ability to perform supervisory duties is required unless previously completed.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes 1) Performing routine or non-routine maintenance for facilities; 2) Developing scopes of work and independent estimates for facility maintenance; and 3) Leading teams or groups of employees to complete a project or a task. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11).
Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
