You will serve as a Procurement Technician in the Naval Supply Systems Command (NAVSUP) Fleet Logistics Center (FLCSD) Regional Contracts Department of NAVSUP FLC SD GF.

Duties

You will prepare contract documentation using office automation equipment and automated contract writing tools which include the Standard Procurement System (SPS), to provide a full range of contract support functions. You will prepare delivery orders for issuance against fixed priced, time and material, and cost type contracts. You will track and monitor all annual requirements and option exercise dates, and generate appropriate letters to customer activities and contractors to ensure appropriate award, renewal or exercise of options. You will prepare administrative contract modifications to exercise options. You will serve as the Contractor Performance Assessment Reporting System (CPARS) focal point for applicable contracts.

  • This is a bargaining unit position.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • This is a Mission Essential position. You will be required to ensure organization or facility continuity of operations and/or completion of tasks that are considered essential to the mission designated by a local or command decision.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of Procurement Technician specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-06) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector utilizing a practical knowledge of procurement procedures, operations and regulations to perform clerical and technical work that supports the procurement of supplies and services. Specialized experience must include 1) Utilizing procurement information systems to prepare contract documentation and procurement information reports;2) Assisting with preparing contract modifications in response to deficiency reports;3) Assembling, reviewing, and maintaining procurement files related to complex contracts. In lieu of general/specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience:

As a general rule, education is not creditable above GS-5 for most positions covered by this standard; however, graduate education may be credited in those few instances where the graduate education is directly related to the work of the position.

OR

A combination of experience and education as described above that equates to one year of experience. The percentage of the required education plus the percentage of the required experience must equal one hundred percent.
