About the Position: This position is a DOD Cyber Excepted Service (CES) personnel system position in the Excepted Service under 10 USC 1599f. Employees occupying CES positions are in the Excepted Service and must adhere to U.S. Code, Title 10, as well as Department of Defense Instruction 1400.25. This is a Term appointment not to exceed 2 years. This appointment can be extended up to 5 years or be made permenant without competition.
Duties
Manages battalion HAZMAT/HAZWASTE program.
Serves as a directorate representative on the US Army Alaska Hazardous Substance Management System working group.
Works facility contractual requirements that fall in Facility Infrastructure – Mission Unique Equipment (FI-MUE) category and coordinates with higher S4/G4Engineers.
Performs duties of Site Power Coordinator. SPC ensures continuous operation of facility power equipment and systems that support information technology operations.
Coordinates with the installation Facility Management agencies to gather estimates for work orders, and coordinates funding requirements with the unit Resource Manager.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Three year trial/probationary period may be required.
- You may be expected to travel for this position up to 10% of the time.
- This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment.

To qualify based on your experience, your resume must describe one specialized experience that demonstrates the possession of knowledge, skills, abilities, and competencies necessary for immediate success in the position. Such experience is typically in or directly related to the work of the position to be filled.
Experience: Applicable experience would be demonstrated by: interpreting federal regulations for a facility maintenance; administering effective communication to include written and verbal communication to leadership and federal agencies; interpreting documents related to facility management; and prioritizing agency workload related to facility management projects.
OR
Education: Ph.D or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level of education leading to such a degree with a major study in electrical or electronic engineering, mathematics, physics, public utilities, statistics, computer science, telecommunications management, information systems management, business administration, industrial management, or other fields related to the position to be filled. Combination of experience and education: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages.
