This position is located in the Department of Health & Human Services (HHS), Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), Center for Medicaid and CHIP Services (CMCS), Financial Mgmt Group (FMG), Div of Reimbursement Review.
As a Financial Management Specialist, GS-0501-14, you will lead the establishing Medicaid financial policy program for monitoring state health program oversight and providing technical assistance maintaining financial management of federal funding to states agencies.
Duties
Develops the Medicaid financial management and administrative costs policies.
Provides guidance, technical assistance and policy interpretation to states on Medicaid financial, reimbursement, and non-Federal share policy.
Oversees the review of State plan amendments (SPAs) to help provide technical assistance to States on institutional and noninstitutional reimbursement.
Acts as a technical advisor to management on policy analyses for program and legistlative developments.

In order to qualify for the GS-14 , you must meet the following: You must demonstrate in your resume at least one year (52 weeks) of qualifying specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 grade level in the Federal government, obtained in either the private or public sector, to include:
(1) Providing technical guidance on Medicaid institutional and non-institutional reimbursement methodologies and financial management policies and procedures; and,
(2) Implementing guidelines and procedural instructions for Medicaid reimbursement and financial management policy initiatives; and,
(3) Leading teams to implement and coordinate Medicaid reimbursement and/or financial management projects to ensure accomplishments are met within deadlines.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
Time-in-Grade: To be eligible, current Federal employees must have served at least 52 weeks (one year) at the next lower grade level from the position/grade level(s) to which they are applying.
