About the Position: Incumbent functions under the general supervision of the Company First Sergeant (1SG). Serves as principal administrator responsible to the company commander of a company. Processes trainee and permanent party actions in accordance with regulations, policies and guidelines. Processes actions in accordance with regulations, policies, and guidelines and individual performance counseling.
Duties
Manages personnel duty status is automated systems, arrives, departs, and attaches personnel as necessary.
Maintains close relations with course directors, instructors and supporting staff of assigned training.
Maintains individual training files for trainees and permanent party Soldiers.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment. A background investigation and credit check are required.
- Appointment to this position is subject to a one year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 315.
- Requires working irregular hours and weekends to include being on-call.

In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described below. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes (1) providing direct administrative assistance to ensure actions are accurately prepared and processed, (2) Maintaining individual training files for trainees and permanent party soldiers, (3) managing military personnel duty status in automated systems, including arrivals, departures, (4) attachments; monitoring training requirements and tracking systems; and (5) advising personnel on administrative matters and policies; and ensuring timely submission of evaluations. This definition of specialized experience aligns with typical work performed at the next lower grade/level in federal service (GS-06).

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-06).
