THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION
This National Guard position is for an ALLIED TRADES SUPERVISOR (TITLE 32), Position Description Number D1230000 and is part of the FL SMO, National Guard.
Duties
As an ALLIED TRADES SUPERVISOR (TITLE 32), WS-3401-11, you will plan use of subordinate workers, equipment, facilities, and materials on a week-to-week or month-to-month basis. Establish deadlines, priorities, and work sequences, and plan work assignments based on general work schedules, methods, and policies set by the supervisor. Coordinate work with supporting or related work functions controlled by other supervisors. Determine the number and types of workers needed to accomplish specific projects. Redirect individual workers and resources to accomplish unanticipated work. Inform the supervisor of the need to revise work schedules and re-estimate labor and other resources. Participate with the supervisors in the initial planning of current and future work schedules, budget requests, staffing needs, estimates, and recommendations as to scheduling projected work.

- This is an excepted service position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the employing state's National Guard, required prior to the effective date of placement.
- Selectee will be required to wear the military uniform.
- Security Clearance requirements are determined by position and/or MOS/AFSC compatibility.
- Participation in direct deposit is mandatory.
- May be required to successfully complete a probationary period.
- Males born after 31 December 1959 must be registered for Selective Service.
Qualifications
AREA OF CONSIDERATION: This position is in the Excepted Federal Civil Service "under the authority of 32 U.S.C. 709" and is open to Category 1: All permanent/indefinite (T32 and T5) technicians employed by the agency Category 3: All current military members of the Florida National Guard; and Category 4: All individuals who qualify for membership in the Florida National Guard and are willing to become T32 Dual Status technicians.
PCS:Permanent Change of Station (PCS) costs, Recruitment or Relocation Incentive MAY be authorized. Authorization for payment of PCS expenses, Recruitment or Relocation Incentive will be granted ONLY after determination is made that payment is in the best interest of the Florida National Guard.
FLNG BUS Code 8888: This position is "excluded" and ineligible for labor organization representation.
TEMPORARY PROMOTION- For Title 32 selectees only: This is an obligated position (incumbent is on a military tour). If a permanent employee in the Title 32 excepted civil service accepts this position, he/she will retain their permanent status AND return to their previous Title 32 position once incumbent returns from military duty. If the military tour member, who has reemployment rights to this position, does not exercise his/her reemployment rights within 5 years, the selected individual may remain in this position without further competition.
INDEFINITE APPOINTMENT-For Current Title 5 selectees only: This is an obligated position (incumbent is on a military tour). If an on-board individual employed in the Title 5 excepted civil service accepts this position, he/she will receive an indefinite appointment (Tenure 3). If a Reduction-In-Force occurs and/or the military tour member exercises reemployment rights to this position, the indefinite appointee will have no reemployment rights to any other position and may be separated. If the military tour member, having reemployment rights to this position, does not exercise his/her rights within 5 years, this position may be converted to a permanent status without further competition.

MILITARY GRADES: Enlisted/Warrant Officers; E7 thru CW3.
GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Must have experience or training which demonstrates that the candidate can organize assignments for subordinates, estimate material and manpower needed for specific jobs; able to explain manuals and work procedures; and to prepare production records, work records and reports.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: WS-11 Must have 36 months of specialized experience at the next lower level; experience coordinating work with supporting or related work functions controlled by other supervisors; experience or training which demonstrates the ability to use all types of hand tools, and measuring equipment related to this occupational series; experience demonstrating the ability to set up and operate machining tools and using hand tools to make or repair parts, tools, gauges, models, patterns, mechanisms, and machines; experience which demonstrates the ability to plan, direct, and organize work assignments for lower grade personnel; experience which required the review of work requirements and establish priorities to meet deadlines; experience that provided knowledge of various lines of work performed by this function; experience which demonstrates the ability to supervise or the potential to perform such duties as evidenced by the ability to communicate knowledge of general supervisory concepts, and knowledge of shop processes; experience in adapting existing equipment and techniques to new situations.
