The incumbent of this position will work a flextime work schedule.  

Duties

This position serves as an Assistant Section Head in the Cooperative Training and Policy Section (CTPS), Policy, Training and Cooperative Programs Division (PTCP), Acquisitions and Bibliographic Access (ABA) Directorate, Discovery, and Preservation Services (DPS) within the Library Collections and Services Group (LCSG) at the Library of Congress (LC).

Applicants must have had progressively responsible experience and training sufficient in scope and quality to furnish them with an acceptable level of the following knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the duties of the position without more than normal supervision. Ability to supervise, develop and lead a diverse workforce. ** Ability to analyze organizational and operational problems and develop solutions to plan and carry out library programs and projects. ** Ability to build and maintain relationships with individuals from a variety of backgrounds in order to provide consultation or liaison services. ** Knowledge of the principles, concepts, and techniques of library science. Knowledge of integrated library systems, library applications, and other information technologies. Ability to communicate in writing in performing supervisory or managerial work. Ability to communicate effectively other than in writing.
