Duties
Complete police accident reports, to include identifying, locating, and interviewing witnesses and/or suspects.
Apprehend violators, obtain facts and prepare statements concerning accidents or violations.
Maintain responsibility and control over crime/accident scenes by conducting investigations, gathering evidence and interviewing witnesses.
Respond to and investigate emergency calls, complaints and other calls for service.
Secure access to installation and building to protect personnel and property.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- The incumbent of this position must be able to obtain and maintain a SECRET security clearance.
- This position is subject to the Lautenberg Amendment/Domestic Violence Misdemeanor Amendment to the Gun Control Act of 1968.
- This position is covered by the Civilian Drug Abuse Testing Program. Incumbent is required to sign a DA Form 5019-R, for certain civilian positions identified as critical under the Drug Abuse Testing Program, or a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU).
- Must be able to obtain and maintain an Individual Reliability Program certification IAW AR 190-56.
- Must possess and maintain a valid US state and local government driver's license.
- This position requires shift work and/or work on rotating shifts to provide coverage on evenings, weekends, holidays and other situations.
- This position may require the incumbent to work overtime.
- A medical screening/examination is required in accordance with Army Regulation 19056, Appendix B and C, AR 50-5, AR 50-6, and/or AR 190-59. Immunizations, such as Hepatitis B, may be required.
- Must be able to pass annual physical agility test per AR 190-56, and maintain be able to perform physically demanding and occasionally arduous tasks as are expected in a force protection/ law enforcement first responder environment.
- Firearms testing and successful qualification to Army published standards required on a semi-annual basis. This may include firing at night, with one hand, or while under time or physical stress.
- Position requires employee to perform routine and emergency daily duties while wearing a uniform and/or protective clothing and/or personal protective equipment.
- Must be able to successfully graduate from a United States Army Military Police School accredited Civilian Police or Security Guard Course; unless waived.
- Incumbent must be able to act in the capacity of a first responder to critical incidents, including but not limited to: criminal acts, natural disasters, lost or missing persons, mass casualties, and/or acts of terror or mass destruction.
- Incumbent will be required to execute the lawful orders of critical incident commanders, military or civilian, assigned duties as such.
- Position requires lifting and carrying of heavy objects.
- Incumbent must be able to obtain and maintain an Individual Reliability Program certification IAW AR 190-56.
Qualifications
About the Position: The Joint Munitions Command provides the Joint Force with ready, reliable, lethal munitions at the speed of war. JMC's mission is to support the production, storage, distribution, and demilitarization of munitions. This position will serve as a Police Officer conducting law enforcement duties and enforcing safety regulations on a major military installation to maintain order and protect life and property and is located at the McAlester Army Ammunition Plant, which is a subordinate installation of JMC.
