This position is located at the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA), Farm Production and Conservation Bureau (FPAC), Natural Resources and Conservation Service (NRCS) Science and Technology Deputy Area in:
Forth Worth, TX; or
Lincoln, NE.
The primary purpose is to serve as the principal office administrative person for the Director and staff carrying out and coordinating a wide range of administrative functions.
Duties
Represent the agency as a visible and key liaison between the executives and other stakeholders requiring a knowledge of program policies and directives while also ensuring for timely flow of information and good communication.
Serve as the central point of contact to provide program support for a wide range of administrative, office support, and clerical functions.
Provide administrative support functions such as correspondence review and control, budget, purchasing, human resources, timekeeping, travel, and vehicle fleet tracking.
Schedule meetings, prepares agendas, and coordinates training; prepares materials to be used in presentations or training conducted.
Oversee resource purchase and distribution and advises according to budget constraints.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: To be considered minimally qualified for this position, you must demonstrate that you have the required specialized experience and/or education for the respective grade level(s) in which you are applying:
GS-9
Specialized Experience: One or more full-time years (12-months) of specialized work experience, equivalent to at least the GS-7 grade level in the Federal service, performing the following duties:
Providing advice and assistance to management, staff, and employees on a variety of administrative services;
Planning, coordinating, and carrying out assignments independently;
Utilizing office software and tools to create presentations, manage data, and streamline processes; and
Scheduling meetings & conferences, preparing agendas, and coordinating training.

OR
Education: Successful completion of at least a master's or equivalent graduate degree; or 2 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree; or, LL.B. or J.D. Such education must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work. (You MUST submit supporting academic transcripts.)
OR
Combination: Combination of the specialized experience and graduate education described above that when combined totals 100 percent. First, determine your total qualifying experience as a percentage of the experience required for the grade level; then determine your education as a percentage of the education required for the grade level; and then add the two percentages. The total percentages must equal at least 100 percent to qualify. Only graduate education in excess of 1 year (18 semester hours) may be used to qualify applicants for the GS-09 level. (MUST submit copies of transcripts).
