This FLIGHT OPERATIONS SPECIALIST position, is located in an Army Support Facility (AASF) or Army Aviation Flight Activity (AAFA) and is part of the CA AASF Los Alamitos.

Duties

THIS IS A T32 EXCEPTED SERVICE, PERMANENT POSITION The primary purpose of the FLIGHT OPERATIONS SPECIALIST, GS-2102-8, is to conduct preflight briefings for pilots and provide in-flight advisory services. The AASF or AAFA provides flight services and mission briefings which are relatively small in number i.e. well below 75,000 and 25,000 respectively.

General Experience: Possess experience, education, or training interpreting, explaining, and/or applying basic rules, regulations, policies, and procedures of a transportation program. Experience using computer and automation systems. FLIGHT OPERATIONS SPECIALIST, GS-2102-8: Must have at least one year of specialized experience, equivalent to at least the GS-07 level, or equivalent pay band in other pay systems in the Federal government. This experience may also have been obtained in the private sector but must demonstrate that it is comparable to the GS grade indicated. Specialized experience may have been demonstrated by performing duties such as: arranging and interpreting directives and regulations governing transportation of personnel, cargo or freight; Experience applying directives and regulations governing transportation of personnel, cargo or freight; Experience verifying legal entitlements or official authorizations for travel, securing from carriers guides and timetables, information regarding schedules, fares, and availability of space accommodations; Experience planning and organizing the work of others.
