The primary purpose of this position is to To counsel military personnel, their family members, and civilian contractors on a variety of passports and visa subjects.
Duties
Provides counseling for military personnel and their dependents on requirements for entrance to foreign countries.
Reviews and processes incoming and outgoing correspondence, materials, publications, regulations, and directives.
Performs other administrative and clerical work in support of the office/organization.
Uses multiple office automation software with varied functions to produce a wide range of documents that often require complex formals, such as graphics or tables within text, editing and reformatting electronic drafts, and updating or revising existing databases or spreadsheets.
Recieves telephone calls, greets visitors, and ascertains the nature of the calls or visits, based on knowledge of the organization and its programs and operations,refers telephone calls and visitors to appropriate staff or office.

Qualifications
Experience requirements are described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions,Clerical and Administrative Support Positions.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least 2 years of general experience. Applicants must have at least 1 year (52 weeks) of specialized experience at the next lower broadband NK-01, equivalent to the next lower grade GS-04 or equivalent in other pay systems. Specialized experience is experience in preparing, coordinating and consolidating documents, reports, or briefings; planning resources to achieve project schedules;providing advice and guidance to subordinate organizations' staff; plan and perform complex office automation duties. NOTE: Due to the use of 120-day rosters, this period of experience may be completed within 120 days of the closing date of this announcement.

COMBINATION OF EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION: Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. NOTE: You must submit a copy of official transcripts.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:
1. Knowledge of various office automation software programs, tools, and techniques to support office operations and produce a variety of documents, such as letters, reports on any subordinate employees, orders for military personnel, spreadsheets, databases, graphs, government computer programs/systems, and official government documents. as it relates to passports and visa requests and relocation of military personnel.
2. Knowledge of rules, procedures, Department of Defense and Air Force directives and instructions, and operations that apply to the employee in order lo perform the procedural work of the office for processing government visas and passports. The employee will be trained and certified in accordance of training requirements of the State Department, The employee must also be trained in all aspects of military relocation procedures as spelled out in the elements master training plan.
3. Knowledge of the laws, rules and regulations of using and maintaining a Government Purchase Card (GPC).
4. Knowledge of correct grammar, spelling, punctuation, capitalization, and formation to be able to accurately prepare and edit written correspondence and reports.
5. Ability to operate a keyboard at a minimum rate of 25 words per minute {wpm) with no errors.
6. Knowledge and ability to research, analyze, interpret, and apply rules, regulations, procedures, and standard safety and health practices relating to passport and visa application and military relocation actions.
7. Ability to gather and correlate data and locate, assemble, compose, and present facts for routine and non-routine reports, inquiries and non-technical correspondence.
8. Ability to speak distinctly and communicate effectively both orally and in writing and maintain effective work relationships.
9. Ability to perform basic arithmetic calculations.
PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.
VOLUNTEER WORK EXPERIENCE: Refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service Programs (i.e., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student and social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge and skills that can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
